The Symbolism of Spring

For many Spring is the most beautiful time of the year. However for others it can also be a very difficult time of year and this is reflected in the dichotomy of the symbolism of spring and new life beginning entwined with the challenges of adjusting to new ways of life and new ways of being.

Spring can present a difficult time of year for many and this year this is added to by the uncertainty and unknowing of how life will be after lockdown.

So why is it a difficult time of year?

Whilst we look to all the wonder occurring in the natural world and consider anticipated holidays and enjoyable summer days out, it can also be a time for us to reflect upon our own position in life.

We may think about those whom we are without this year. We may also pause to think about previous years and the things we hoped for. We think about things that may or may not be possible this year and to think about times in life that maybe things felt a little easier.

Spring may also be used as a time for acceptance and not only to acknowledge the special times we have shared with loved ones in the past but also to give ourselves permission to look forward to new and different times in the future.

Over the past year we have may found ourselves saying one day I will…..

Perhaps now it is time for us to dust off those thoughts and explore how we can turn these thoughts and hopes into new realities.

To do this we must allow ourselves to embark upon our journey towards self-acceptance and on a quest to self-realization.

It maybe that in allowing ourselves an acceptance of the current situation in which we find ourselves that we can then take responsibility for changing our limitations and current realities and break through barriers into new, different, and exciting realities. To allow ourselves to become the people that we really want to be and to find the experiences that we really want in our lives that are both challenging and inspiring.

It is challenging to change our life experiences and to allow ourselves to grow once again. It may feel risky. Doubts may present themselves as to what if we do not enjoy our new life choices or new experiences.

This is yet further learning on our journey towards greater self-awareness and as we chose to move towards these experiences, so we are free to choose to move towards other life choices and experiences. In their turn these then lead us closer to our self-realization and finding meaning where perhaps none was found before.

Next time you close your eyes consider the ideas you had previously considered impossible and allow yourself to see the steps that are needed to turn these ideas into reality and then make a note of these steps. In breaking down an idea into small chunks. By breaking an idea into small chunks we are then able to achieve things we never dreamt were possible.

As nature demonstrates by the coming of Spring each year things which seem impossible become possible and our journeys begin again.
